Registration is now open for Summer 2022 Outdoor Season.
The minis rugby programs are all co-ed with the U7 and U9 programs being non-contact tag rugby (aka flag rugby).
Our aim is to achieve the goals set out in the Rugby Canada Long Term Athlete Development Plan with an emphasis on personal development and what we call ?Fundamental Team Identity?. Fundamental Team Identity covers our primary objectives, being fun, sportsmanship, team work, respect and discipline, inclusivity and hard work.
T-shirts and shorts or track suit bottoms can be worn for practices. Cleats are also required - please ensure they are soccer cleats i.e. they must not have the extra toe cleat required for some other sports. All jewelry should be removed or covered with plasters at the very least and long hair should be tied back.
A child's age grade is determined by their age on January 1 each year. i.e. A child that turns 9 years old on January 2, would still fall under a U9 registration even though they are 9 years old at the start of the summer season.
Training Schedule:
Mondays and Wednesdays between 6.00pm - 7.00pm at Mitford Ponds Playing Field, Cochrane.
Training commences: April 25th through to June 29th, summer break then resume August 29th through to September 28th (excluding Victoria long weekend).
Under 7s and Under 9s do not travel anywhere. All training is community based. There are no league games for these age groups.
The cost for 2022 is: $124.87 which includes the Sportlomo fee.
***All of our dates are dependent on the weather. If the fields are covered in snow or waterlogged then the Town of Cochrane may delay the opening. The best way to always find out about field closures is to ring 403 851 2552 option 2 after 4pm on every practice day. We will always try to get word out to our teams in time via Facebook and Teamsnap but for those travelling a great distance please do check this line before you travel.***
Juniors and minis will be added to Teamsnap once they register for the summer season, which lists all training days.
New players are always welcome to come along and watch before joining or they can join part way through the season. Please email me4rugby@yahoo.ca to notify if you would like this option.
